Job Overview – Financial Controller (Construction):
Become a vital part of our client’s construction team in Philadelphia, PA, as a Financial Controller. In this full-time role, you will oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing risk for construction projects.
Compensation: $140,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Responsibilities as the Financial Controller:
- Financial Operations: Manage cash flow, financial reporting, and project accounting for construction projects.
- AP/AR Management: Ensure accurate recording of AP/AR transactions, timely vendor payments, and client invoicing.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor two team members, overseeing AP and AR processes.
- Project Financials: Track project costs, budgets, and profitability, collaborating with project managers.
- Compliance: Maintain internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and support audits.
- Risk Management: Oversee insurance policies, bonding, and certificates of insurance for projects.
Qualifications for the Financial Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years in Financial Management for construction companies, general contractors, or construction management firms.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks and Procore.
- Construction Expertise: Strong background in budgeting, job costing, and financial reporting.
- Skills: Leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
