Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance & Operations Associate for our client in New York, NY, to support fund accounting, operations, and investor reporting in a private equity environment. You will manage financial reporting, tax compliance, fund liquidity, investment closings, and performance reporting while partnering with internal teams, fund administrators, auditors, and vendors. This is an excellent opportunity for public accountants with partnership experience looking to move into a hands-on finance and operations role within private markets.

Responsibilities as the Finance & Operations Associate:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Manage quarterly and annual financial, tax, and compliance reporting in alignment with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Liquidity & Valuation: Oversee fund liquidity, capital calls, and quarterly investment valuations, including ASC-820 methodologies.
  • Audit, Tax & Investor Reporting: Liaise with auditors and tax advisors on audits, tax filings, and K-1s, and support LP reporting, investor communications, and fundraising efforts.
  • Investment Operations: Support investment closings, wire coordination, document review, and management of investment records and portfolio data.
  • Financial Modeling & Reporting: Prepare ad hoc financial models and reports on fund and portfolio performance (IRR, MOIC, TVPI).
  • Management & Improvement: Manage vendors and service providers, maintain internal controls, and lead operational improvement initiatives.

Qualifications for the Finance & Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 2-4 years of public accounting (audit or tax) experience focused on partnerships, with exposure to private equity, venture capital, or hedge funds.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in fund administration systems and platforms (Standard Metrics or similar) preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong technical accounting, organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
