Job Overview – Finance Manager
Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance Manager in Boston, MA for our client, supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, and regional finance activities within a global professional services organization. This role will partner closely with the Corporate Controller and global finance teams to oversee the month-end close, financial reporting, cash management, compliance, and process improvement initiatives while providing functional oversight of a shared services team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting experience, leadership skills, and a background in public accounting, construction, design, real estate, or project-based industries.
Responsibilities as the Finance Manager:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis.
- Accounting Operations: Provide functional oversight of shared services activities, ensuring timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and accounting transactions.
- Compliance & Controls: Support tax compliance, audits, internal controls, and financial governance while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow & Treasury: Prepare cash flow forecasts, oversee payment approvals, monitor intercompany activity, and support banking relationships.
- Process Improvement: Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance leadership, shared services, and business stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, operational reporting, and business decision-making.
Qualifications for the Finance Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, CPA certification or public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance is required, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior accounting role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience within construction, design, engineering, project-based professional services, commercial real estate, or related industries is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, and experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and accounting software is highly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, strengthen processes, and collaborate across global teams are required.
