Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance Manager in New York, NY (Hybrid) with our client, a leading private equity firm. In this role, you will oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, treasury management, and portfolio operations across private equity and credit funds. Key responsibilities include managing capital calls, distributions, and allocations, supporting deal closings, and collaborating with CFOs, auditors, and tax teams. Ideal candidates bring CPA credentials and strong fund accounting experience within private equity or credit.

Responsibilities as the Finance Manager (Private Equity):

  • Fund Accounting & Reporting: Oversee journal entries, ledgers, capital calls/distributions, allocations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
  • Portfolio Operations: Manage portfolio-level reporting and analysis, including investment activity, cash flows, IRRs, and valuations in collaboration with portfolio company CFOs.
  • Treasury & Liquidity: Direct treasury functions, liquidity schedules, and cash planning to support efficient fund operations.
  • Deal Support: Review and book complex transactions related to deal closings, acquisitions, and credit operations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts, model firm budgets, report on performance, and develop carry projections.
  • Leadership Reporting: Create internal reports for fund leadership with insights on financial performance and portfolio activity.

Qualifications for the Finance Manager (Private Equity):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
  • Licensure: Active CPA required.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience within private equity or credit, with both public and private accounting backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling with solid experience using fund accounting systems and portfolio reporting platforms.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of closed-end credit funds, private equity structures, capital account statements, and investment reporting requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
