Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance Manager (General Partner Accounting) in Boston, MA for our client, a leading global alternative investment firm. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, and operational activities of general partner entities while managing a small team and partnering with professionals across finance, tax, legal, compliance, and investment teams. The ideal candidate has a strong background in public accounting, fund accounting, or financial services and is looking to join a collaborative organization with outstanding long-term career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities as the Finance Manager:

  • Accounting Operations: Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and related activities for multiple entities while ensuring accurate records and timely reporting.
  • Financial Management: Manage cash activity, account reconciliations, transaction processing, and other accounting functions that support ongoing business operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Review quarterly and annual financial statements, account activity, supporting schedules, and reconciliations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Tax & Compliance: Coordinate tax reporting, audit support, and compliance activities in partnership with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Supervise and mentor accounting professionals while supporting process improvements, operational efficiency, and team development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, improve workflows, and strengthen reporting processes.

Qualifications for the Finance Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA or Master’s degree is required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of accounting experience within financial services is required, including experience in public accounting, private equity, hedge funds, fund administration, or partnership accounting. Previous people management experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of partnership accounting, investment operations, financial reporting, and alternative investments is required. Experience with private equity, credit, real estate, or other investment vehicles is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Investran or similar fund accounting software is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while building relationships across all levels of the organization. Experience leveraging technology and automation tools to improve financial processes is a plus.
