Job Overview – Finance Associate (Private Equity):
Take on a dynamic role with our client as a Finance Associate in New York, NY. In this hybrid position, you will oversee complex private equity fund operations, manage quarterly financial reporting, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure compliance and efficiency. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with expertise in private equity fund administration and a passion for process improvement.
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Finance Associate:
- Fund Oversight: Manage multi-series private equity funds, including alternative vehicles, special purpose entities, and co-investment vehicles.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review quarterly trial balances, financial statements, and supporting documentation for compliance.
- Capital Management: Oversee capital allocations, contributions, distributions, and carried interest calculations.
- Audit Support: Facilitate annual audit requests, providing necessary documentation to auditors.
- Investor Reporting: Prepare performance reports, including IRR calculations, and respond to investor inquiries.
- Valuation Coordination: Compile and review portfolio valuations quarterly, ensuring adherence to standards and audit requirements.
Qualifications for the Finance Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years in finance or accounting, including 4 years in private equity fund administration or private fund roles (public accounting experience in financial services preferred).
- Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools, with familiarity in fund administration software (Investran is strongly preferred).
- Attributes: Collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven, with strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence in financial management.
