Job Overview – Field Engineer:
Join our distribution client as a Field Engineer, based in Long Island, NY. This field-based role covers New York City and Long Island, providing technical leadership by supporting sales and service teams, developing fluid handling solutions, and driving sales growth through expert product recommendations. You’ll work directly with customers, deliver technical presentations, and support custom engineering solutions, including P&ID development, BOM creation, and system troubleshooting.
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000/year
Location: Based in Long Island, NY (Fieldwork covering NYC and Long Island)
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Field-Based)
Responsibilities as the Field Engineer:
- Technical Sales & Support: Assist sales teams and customers with product selection, system evaluations, and troubleshooting.
- Fluid System Optimization: Assess and enhance fluid handling systems to improve plant efficiency.
- Product Training: Provide technical support and training on products, applications, and system integration.
- Engineering Design: Develop P&ID schematics, BOMs, and documentation for custom solutions.
- Customer Growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities with tailored solutions.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Share insights, refine technical solutions, and provide feedback on product improvements.
Qualifications for the Field Engineer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline required.
- Experience: Prior experience in fluid systems, mechanical engineering, or technical field support.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in P&ID development, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with clear communication to present technical concepts effectively.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel 10-20% to support customer engagements and project work.
