Job Overview – Director of Technical Accounting/SEC Reporting:
Join our client's fast-growing accounting and consulting firm in NYC, Boston, MA, or remotely as a Director of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. In this role, you will assist clients and oversee staff with complex technical accounting issues, SEC audit preparations, and financial statement reviews.
Location: (New York, Boston, or Remote)
Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Director of Technical Accounting/SEC Reporting:
- Technical Accounting Oversight: Manage accounting for equity and debt issuance with derivatives, purchase accounting, divestitures, VIE’s, and consolidations.
- Research and Memos: Conduct research and prepare technical accounting memos on Lease Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and SEC rules and regulations.
- Support and Guidance: Provide support and guidance on technical accounting issues for a variety of complex topics.
- SEC Audit Preparation: Oversee SEC audit and review preparation, identifying and communicating complex valuation techniques with auditors.
- Financial Statement Review: Prepare and review financial statements for both public and private sectors, including audit disclosures.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring efficient performance of engagements.
Qualifications for the Director of Technical Accounting/SEC Reporting:
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience with at least 5-7 years of public accounting experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting. CPA/MBA preferred.
- Additional Skills: Outstanding project management and analytical skills, strong communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
