Job Overview – Director of Fund Finance:
Compensation: $180,000 – $215,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Take on a senior leadership role as Director of Fund Finance with our client’s investment team in Boston, MA (Hybrid), overseeing fund finance operations across private market strategies. This role manages NAV calculations, audits, investor reporting, and expense controls while driving process enhancements and team leadership. Ideal candidates bring deep experience in fund accounting, tax, and compliance within alternative investments.

Responsibilities as the Director of Fund Finance:

  • Financial Reporting & Oversight: Lead financial reporting, audits, and NAV processes across global fund structures.
  • Investor & Fund Communication: Collaborate with Investor Relations to prepare investor letters and reporting materials.
  • Fund Operations Management: Oversee internal finance teams and external administrators, custodians, and auditors.
  • Capital & Fee Oversight: Review capital allocations, incentive fees, and NAV packages for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Controls & Compliance: Manage fund expenses, support audits, and maintain strong financial controls across jurisdictions.
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive process improvements, guide team development, and align with legal, tax, and compliance stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Director of Fund Finance:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is required (MBA highly preferred).
  • Certifications: CPA or CFA preferred.
  • Experience: 11+ years in financial leadership within asset management or financial services, with expertise in private credit, direct lending, and mezzanine strategies.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in fund accounting systems and Excel, with valued experience in financial modeling, compliance tools, and reporting platforms.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, delegate responsibilities effectively, and align team goals with broader organizational strategies.
  • Skills & Attributes: Exceptional analytical and communication skills, results-oriented mindset, and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and navigate complex decisions across functional areas.
