Role Overview – Director of Fund Accounting
Our client, a leading $5B alternative credit investment platform, is seeking an expert Fund Accounting Director in New York to manage and lead a growing group. With hands-on responsibility for processes from financial reporting to the underlying accounting and systems, the ideal candidate will leverage their team leadership, strong business partnering, and technical accounting abilities to support growth initiatives for this manager.
Compensation: $160,000.00 – $190,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City
Responsibilities of the Director of Fund Accounting include:
- Leading fund account team and NAV close processes
- Managing fee calculations, capital calls, and fund allocations
- Reviewing internal/external administrator work
- Liaising with senior finance and investments staff
- Enabling accrual-based reporting and forecasting
- Improving controls, workflows, and procedures
- Responding to investor and auditor requests
- Proactively identifying business and technology solutions
Qualifications for the Director of Fund Accounting include:
- 8-12 years of fund accounting and manager experience
- CPA required and structured credit expert desirable
- Motivational leader and team-builder
- Financial precision and proactivity
- Expertise in private equity and hedge fund regulation
- Comfort with systems and data sets
