Job Overview – Director of Financial Operations:
Compensation: $140,000 – $185,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is seeking a Director of Financial Operations on behalf of our client in Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid). This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial operations across multiple entities, enhancing data controls, and supporting regulatory compliance within a highly regulated environment. You’ll drive operational efficiency, implement technology solutions, and improve reporting and risk oversight. Expertise in Power BI, Clearwater, and process optimization is essential to advancing strategic financial initiatives.

Responsibilities as the Director of Financial Operations:

  • Investment Operations Oversight: Manage trade settlements, cash flows, fundings, custodial activities, and system integrations across platforms.
  • Collateral Management: Monitor and optimize collateral posting, usage, and reporting across programs including FHLB, repurchase agreements, and securities lending.
  • Technology Integration & Automation: Use Power BI, Excel, and Clearwater to automate reporting, reconcile data, and drive process efficiencies.
  • Compliance & Controls: Maintain controls documentation, review SOC reports, and design KRIs to monitor operational and vendor-related risks.
  • Strategic Support & Risk Management: Collaborate with senior leaders to assess new investment structures, evaluate risk-based capital impacts, and support regulatory disclosures.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a high-performing team, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive transformation through change management.

Qualifications for the Director of Financial Operations:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 10-15 years in investment operations with a focus on fixed income, derivatives, and collateral management, including 5+ years of leadership and front-office collaboration, ideally within a regulated or insurance environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, arrays), and familiarity with Clearwater, custodial platforms, and investment accounting systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of investment instruments, including experience with vendor oversight and operational best practices in investment management environments.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical skills with a process-driven, collaborative leadership style and a focus on automation, efficiency, and cross-functional communication.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
