Job Overview – Director of Finance (Private Equity):
Atlantic Group is hiring a Director of Finance to join our client’s private equity-backed startup in New York, NY, as a key member of their finance leadership team. In this hybrid role, you’ll oversee financial operations, fund and management company accounting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned private equity finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and has expertise in fund accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.
Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Director of Finance (Private Equity):
- Financial Strategy & Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial operations.
- Fund Accounting & Reporting: Manage financial statements, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
- Compliance & Regulatory Management: Ensure adherence to SEC, GAAP, and other financial regulations.
- Treasury & Liquidity Management: Oversee fund liquidity, cash flow forecasting, and capital allocation.
- Process Optimization & Controls: Enhance internal controls, operational efficiencies, and compliance frameworks.
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Manage audits, tax filings, and investor communications with auditors and tax advisors.
Qualifications for the Director of Finance (Private Equity):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred).
- Experience: 10-20 years of experience in private equity finance, with a mix of fund accounting, management company accounting, and compliance experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and private equity fund structures, with experience in financial reporting, SEC compliance, and tax structuring for private equity funds.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in fund administration software (e.g., Investran, eFront, NetSuite) and financial reporting systems.
- Skills & Attributes: Expertise in financial modeling, valuations, and investor reporting, with strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills for engaging stakeholders.
