Job Overview – Director of Accounts Payable:
Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Location: Gloucester County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Director of Accounts Payable in Gloucester County, NJ, with our client. This role oversees all AP operations, vendor management, payment processing, and systems in a high-volume, multi-entity environment. You will drive AP strategy, automation, and EDI adoption, support an Epicor-to-Kinetic migration, and streamline payment workflows. Ideal for an AP leader with strong ERP experience, advanced Excel skills, and a record of modernizing AP functions.
Responsibilities as the Director of Accounts Payable:
- AP Operations Leadership: Oversee high-volume AP functions including vendor relations, payment processing, 1099 reporting, and day-to-day team management.
- Process & Systems Management: Implement and refine AP policies, controls, and workflows while supporting the Epicor-to-Kinetic ERP migration.
- Financial Close & Reporting: Lead AP month-end close activities, reconcile postings, and monitor KPIs such as DPO, invoice aging, and payment accuracy.
- Vendor Payments & Compliance: Ensure timely, accurate disbursements across multiple payment channels (ACH, credit card, lockbox, emailed and manual checks).
- Automation & Optimization: Drive AP automation initiatives, strengthen three-way match performance, enhance EDI adoption, and streamline end-to-end AP processes.
Qualifications for the Director of Accounts Payable:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 7-12 years in accounting or AP, including 3+ years of management or supervisory experience within a high-volume AP environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency with strong experience in large ERP systems (Epicor/Kinetic preferred) and 1099 processing.
- Industry Knowledge: Background in distribution, logistics, or PE-backed environments strongly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage daily AP operations while driving strategic process improvements in high-volume environments.
