Job Overview – Director of Accounting & Finance:
Join our client as the Director of Accounting & Finance in Philadelphia, PA, where you will lead accounting operations for both properties and corporate entities, manage a skilled team, and ensure financial accuracy and GAAP compliance.
Compensation: $130,000 – $145,000/year
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Director of Accounting & Finance:
- Monthly Oversight: Coordinate and manage the monthly accounting close for properties and corporate entities, ensuring accuracy in financials.
- Financial Review: Review property financial statements (Balance Sheet and Income Statement), address feedback, and mentor staff.
- Reconciliations: Review balance sheet reconciliations for all properties and corporate entities, and assist in reconciling intercompany balances.
- Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly reporting packages and variance analysis for properties.
- Compliance: Manage the annual external audit, tax process, and ensure compliance with recent GAAP pronouncements.
- Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of five accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications for the Director of Accounting & Finance:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 7+ years of Accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Management role (Real estate or Construction experience preferred).
- Licensure: CPA preferred.
- Skills: Strong GAAP knowledge, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and experience with Yardi (a plus).
- Other: Strong attention to detail, skilled in reviewing and providing feedback, and an entrepreneurial mindset with a desire for process improvement.
