Job Overview – Cost Accounting Manager:
Join our manufacturing client as a Cost Accounting Manager in Chester County, PA. This in-office role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting. You will oversee cost accounting functions, optimize financial processes, and collaborate with operations teams to enhance cost efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year
Location: Chester County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Cost Accounting Manager:

  • Financial Closing & Reporting: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for costing and inventory modules, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Cost & Inventory Analysis: Review and analyze manufacturing variances, standard cost roll-ups, and inventory reserves to drive financial efficiency.
  • Variance & Margin Analysis: Provide insights on gross margin fluctuations and collaborate with operations to minimize variances.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead plant capital budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Audit & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, coordinate with auditors, and provide necessary financial analysis.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Oversee the cost accounting team, offering mentorship, performance evaluations, and strategic guidance.

Qualifications for the Cost Accounting Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (MBA preferred).
  • Certification: CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting within manufacturing, including cost accounting and financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word, with ERP system experience (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing variances, overhead absorption, standard costing, inventory reconciliation, and COGS accounting.
