Job Overview – Controller (Manufacturing):
Lead financial operations for our manufacturing client as a Controller in Boston, MA. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance within a private equity-backed, high-growth environment. Partner with leadership to drive strategic initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and support long-term value creation.
Compensation: $175,000 – $210,000/year
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Controller (Manufacturing):
- Financial Oversight: Manage accounting functions, ensuring GAAP compliance and private equity alignment.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CFO on forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
- Cash Flow Management: Optimize liquidity across entities to support business objectives.
- Compliance & Audits: Oversee tax compliance, covenant monitoring, and financial audits.
- Process Optimization: Implement financial systems and controls for scalability in a high-growth environment.
- Reporting & Leadership: Present financial reports to stakeholders and mentor the accounting team.
Qualifications for the Controller (Manufacturing):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Licensure: CPA strongly preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in progressive accounting roles, with leadership experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth company.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong background in manufacturing, wholesale, consumer packaged goods (CPG), direct-to-consumer (DTC), or retail sectors.
- Technical Skills: Extensive ERP experience, with familiarity in warehouse management systems, entity consolidations, and inventory cost analysis considered a plus.
- Attributes: Highly strategic, detail-oriented, and adept at managing complex financial operations within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
