Job Overview – Controller (Hybrid):
Join our client, a forward-thinking organization, as the Controller in New York, NY, where you’ll lead accounting operations and ensure financial integrity and compliance. This hybrid role involves managing balance sheet accuracy, overseeing GAAP reporting, coordinating audits, and driving process improvements to align with strategic goals.
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Controller:
- Balance Sheet Management: Ensure accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet, performing reconciliations and maintaining compliance with GAAP standards.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee GAAP-compliant financial reporting, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, including Deloitte, supporting internal and external audits.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting and internal controls to drive operational efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to financial regulations and company policies, ensuring accountability and accuracy across financial operations.
Qualifications for the Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 10+ years of Technical Accounting experience in Lending, Banking, or Financial Services industries.
- Certification: CPA required.
- Background: Experience in public and private accounting with exposure to Financial Services or Asset Management.
- Skills: Advanced technical accounting expertise, proficiency in GAAP compliance, and proven audit coordination skills.
