Job Overview – Controller:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Controller with a background in credit or direct lending, to join their team in New York City! This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and a strategic mindset to support the firm’s financial goals.
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Controller:
- Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the firm’s goals.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all financial activities are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the Controller:
- Experience: 10-12 years of experience in finance, with a focus on credit, direct lending, or private equity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification preferred).
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
