Job Overview – Commodity Trade Finance & Collateral Analyst (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Commodity Trade Finance & Collateral Analyst in New York, NY, overseeing financial controls and contract reconciliation. This hybrid role ensures accurate booking of purchase and sales contracts while collaborating with trade finance, physical operations, and commercial teams to manage cash flow, credit utilization, and inventory tracking. The position also supports structured trade finance transactions and may require occasional travel to industrial sites.

Compensation: $130,000 – $145,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Commodity Trade Finance & Collateral Analyst:

  • Financial & Trade Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of cash receipts, accounts receivable, and financing charge calculations.
  • Inventory & Logistics Oversight: Monitor inventory tracking, financial booking, and work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure operational accuracy.
  • Trade Finance & Credit Management: Oversee credit utilization, collateral reporting, and structured trade finance transactions with banking partners.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key customers, ensuring seamless coordination between site teams and headquarters.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare reconciliation reports and ensure alignment with financial and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications for the Commodity Trade Finance & Collateral Analyst:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Financial Management required.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in commodities operations and/or trade finance, with a strong understanding of physical trade finance, collateral calculations, and credit facilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience with inventory management and accounting systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in structured trade finance transactions and physical operations is highly preferred.
