Job Overview – Client Finance Director (Advertising):
Lead financial strategy and operations with our client as a Client Finance Director (Advertising) in New York, NY (Hybrid), overseeing a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for a finance leader with expertise in client finance, contract negotiation, revenue forecasting, and financial reporting within the advertising or media industry. As a key financial partner, you will drive strategic decision-making, ensure compliance, optimize profitability, and manage global client relationships while leading a high-performing team.

Compensation: $150,000 – $165,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Client Finance Director:

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial insights to guide client decision-making and ensure financial rigor.
  • Revenue Management: Oversee forecasting, billing, and revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Contract & Compliance: Lead contract negotiations and ensure client compensation agreements align with company objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with client leads, finance leadership, and global teams to optimize financial strategies.
  • Client & Operational Management: Maintain strong relationships with client finance teams, overseeing budgeting, invoicing, and payments.
  • Team Leadership & Growth: Mentor staff, drive accountability, and support new business initiatives, pricing strategies, and RFPs.

Qualifications for the Client Finance Director:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 8-12+ years in client finance within the media or advertising industry, including experience supervising teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Macros) with expertise in financial modeling, profitability analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Contract Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to navigate complex contract negotiations, ensuring favorable financial outcomes.
  • Business Acumen & Collaboration: Strong ability to build relationships across teams, influence stakeholders, and work within a matrixed environment.
  • Communication & Leadership: Clear and concise communicator, able to present financial insights and recommendations effectively to executive leadership.
