Job Overview – Chief Financial Officer (Manufacturing)
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: Plymouth County, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (Manufacturing) in Plymouth County, MA for our client, leading financial strategy, accounting operations, and cost controls for a privately held manufacturing organization. In this in-office role, you will partner closely with the CEO and executive team to drive budgeting, forecasting, inventory and cost accounting, cash flow management, and long-term planning while supporting operational scale, margin improvement, and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities as the Chief Financial Officer:
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead annual budgeting, multi-year financial planning, and forecasting to support operational priorities and long-term growth.
- Cost Accounting & Inventory Control: Oversee cost accounting and inventory management to ensure accurate production costing, margin analysis, and inventory controls.
- Executive Partnership & Growth: Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, providing financial leadership to support growth initiatives, operational scaling, and value creation.
- Tax, Accounting & Compliance: Oversee tax strategy, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance, serving as the primary liaison with external tax advisors.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Manage cash flow, evaluate capital structure and funding strategies, and support revenue and margin optimization initiatives.
Qualifications for the Chief Financial Officer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including 3+ years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, operational finance, U.S. GAAP, and tax compliance within privately held companies.
- Technical Skills: Experience working with financial systems and accounting software, with QuickBooks or similar platforms preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strategic, hands-on financial leader with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and leadership abilities.
