Atlantic Group is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (HVAC & Mechanical Construction) in Boston, MA for our client. In this executive role, you’ll lead all aspects of financial strategy, operations, and performance for a growing construction platform. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, ERP integration, debt management, and capital planning. Ideal for seasoned financial leaders with construction accounting, private equity, and ERP migration (NetSuite) experience.

Responsibilities as the Chief Financial Officer:

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as a key executive partner, aligning financial strategy with business goals and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Financial Oversight: Direct accounting, FP&A, treasury, and compliance functions, ensuring accurate GAAP reporting and fiscal discipline.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range modeling to drive data-informed operational decisions.
  • M&A & Integration: Evaluate acquisition opportunities, lead post-close integrations, and standardize financial processes across entities.
  • ERP & Systems Management: Oversee ERP upgrades (NetSuite preferred) and implement scalable systems to enhance automation and reporting.

Qualifications for the Chief Financial Officer:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or VP-level roles, ideally within private equity-backed and acquisitive environments.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel, with experience leading financial integrations, migrations, and consolidations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, project-based and cost-to-completion accounting, construction financials, and percentage-of-completion revenue methods.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strategic and analytical leader with strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, excelling in fast-paced, evolving environments.
