Job Overview – Chief Financial Officer (CFO):
Take on a pivotal leadership role as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with our client in Durham, NC, where you’ll shape financial operations and drive strategic initiatives during a rapid expansion. This in-office position combines high-level financial planning with tactical execution, supporting our upcoming retail expansion. You’ll be responsible for developing financial systems, managing daily operations, and building relationships with key stakeholders.

Compensation: $150,000 – $225,000/year + bonus
Location: Durham, NC
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO):

  • Financial Leadership: Support decision-making with accurate forecasting, performance analysis, and strategic insights.
  • Cash Flow Management: Drive cash flow performance while managing liquidity and financial stability.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with private equity firms, the board, lenders, and auditors.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee all financial functions, including bookkeeping, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
  • System Implementation: Develop and implement scalable financial systems, including ERP/MRP solutions.
  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with leadership on business decisions, retail pricing, and expansion strategies.

Qualifications for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
  • Experience: 7+ years in accounting/finance, preferably in retail or e-commerce, with exposure to pricing strategies, private equity, and inventory management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, accounting systems (e.g., Xero or QuickBooks Online), and ERP/MRP solutions.
  • Skills: Analytical, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, with strong communication skills, high energy, and proven leadership in building processes and leading finance functions.
  • Additional Skills: Experience developing pricing strategies and working cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams.
