Atlantic Group is hiring a Business Operations Manager to join our client’s team in Stamford, CT, supporting alternative investment operations and portfolio management. You’ll oversee trade execution for separately managed accounts (SMAs), manage operations, and collaborate with portfolio managers to drive daily business activities. This role suits an operations professional with leadership, business acumen, and experience in hedge fund or asset management trade operations across multiple asset classes.
Responsibilities as the Business Operations Manager:
- Trade Operations Management: Oversee and execute trade activities for SMAs, including equities, swaps, derivatives, and options.
- Operations Administration: Manage operational workflows, process improvements, and coordination between trading, compliance, and portfolio management teams.
- Firm Support: Assist portfolio managers in managing daily business operations, project execution, and strategic initiatives to enhance firm efficiency.
- Risk & Compliance: Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to ensure operational controls and regulatory requirements are met.
- Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional projects, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications for the Business Operations Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5-10 years in hedge fund or asset management trade operations, with extensive exposure to equities, swaps, derivatives, and options.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in trading platforms, portfolio management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity in compliance and risk tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of alternative investment products, trade lifecycle, and operational risk management.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong business judgment, leadership mindset, resilience, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment.
