Job Overview – Business Operations Associate (Private Equity):
Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Support strategic financial and compliance operations as a Business Operations Associate with our client in Stamford, CT (Hybrid). Collaborate closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams to manage fund accounting, investor reporting, compliance administration, and audit coordination. This role is ideal for a CPA looking to leverage audit or tax expertise within a dynamic private equity environment.

Responsibilities as the Business Operations Associate:

  • Financial Reporting & Accounting: Collaborate with the CFO on fund accounting, capital allocations, and fee calculations.
  • Investor & Regulatory Reporting: Support timely investor reports, SEC filings, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with auditors on year-end statements and assist with SEC compliance programs.
  • Expense & Cash Management: Monitor fund expenses, develop reporting tools, and help manage cash needs.
  • Tax Support & Documentation: Prepare tax schedules and maintain records for audits and compliance.
  • Third-Party & Investor Relations: Manage external vendor relationships and assist in investor communications.

Qualifications for the Business Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA certification is required.
  • Experience: 1-4 years in public accounting, preferably with an audit or tax focus, and exposure to investment management or private equity clients.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software, with experience in fund accounting systems and SEC filing processes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of private equity fund structures, capital call/distribution mechanics, and compliance requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and proactive with strong communication skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across teams effectively.
