Job Overview – Business Development Director (Alternative Investments)
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Business Development Director (Alternative Investments) in New York, NY for our client, supporting institutional sales, relationship management, and business development initiatives across private equity, private credit, real assets, and other alternative investment strategies. This opportunity will work closely with investment, research, client advisory, and leadership teams to expand institutional investor relationships and drive growth across a diverse alternatives platform. The ideal candidate will bring a strong network of institutional investors, proven sales success, and deep knowledge of alternative investments.
Responsibilities as the Business Development Director (Alternative Investments):
- Business Development: Develop and execute growth strategies to cultivate new institutional investor relationships and expand existing client partnerships.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing investors while maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Sales Strategy: Lead the sales process from prospecting through onboarding, delivering presentations, proposals, and investment solutions tailored to client needs.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, investor demand, and competitive developments to identify opportunities and support business growth initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with investment, research, operations, and client service teams to deliver a seamless investor experience.
- Client Engagement: Represent the firm at meetings, conferences, industry events, and investor presentations while supporting ongoing fundraising efforts.
Qualifications for the Business Development Director (Alternative Investments):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in business development, institutional sales, investor relations, fundraising, or relationship management within alternative investments or financial services is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds, and institutional investment strategies is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, investor databases, and presentation tools is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, negotiation, and business development skills with the ability to manage complex client relationships and drive revenue growth are required.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support client meetings, conferences, and business development activities is required.
