Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund Accounting) in New York, NY for our client. In this role, you will support hedge fund accounting, NAV oversight, and financial reporting across complex investment structures. You will oversee core fund accounting processes, review administrator deliverables, and partner with internal leadership and external service providers to support fund launches, valuation, controls, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund Accounting):

  • Fund Accounting Oversight: Oversee daily, monthly, and quarterly fund accounting activities to support accurate reporting and timely close processes.
  • NAV & Administrator Review: Review NAV packages and related reporting prepared by fund administrators to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Fund Launch & Capital Activity: Support new investment vehicle launches while reviewing investor allocations, subscriptions, redemptions, and other capital activity.
  • Valuation & Reconciliation Oversight: Support valuation processes and oversee daily trading reconciliations to ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Controls, Audit & Reporting Support: Maintain internal controls and assist with audits, regulatory filings, investor reporting, and other cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund Accounting):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 3–6 years of hedge fund accounting, fund administration, audit, or related investment accounting experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting hedge funds and multi-asset class portfolios, including equities, credit, derivatives, and futures, is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, and experience with Enfusion, QuickBooks, and automation or reporting tools such as Python or VBA is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced investment management environment are essential.
