Job Overview – Accounts Payable Supervisor
Compensation: $115,000 – $135,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor in Stamford, CT for our client, leading end-to-end accounts payable operations, vendor payments, reconciliations, controls, and team oversight. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will manage daily AP workflows, supervise accounting support staff, strengthen processes, and partner with the broader accounting team on close and reporting activities. This role requires hands-on accounts payable expertise combined with team leadership and a strong focus on automation and process improvement.
Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Supervisor:
- Accounts Payable Operations: Oversee invoice processing, approvals, vendor payments, reconciliations, and daily accounts payable activities.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop accounts payable professionals while overseeing workflows, reviewing work, and maintaining processing accuracy.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end close activities, including accounts payable reconciliations, accruals, and coordination with the accounting team.
- Vendor Management: Oversee vendor setup, payment inquiries, account maintenance, and related vendor administration.
- Controls & Compliance: Maintain accounts payable controls and procedures while supporting audits and other compliance requirements.
- Process Improvement: Improve accounts payable processes, systems, and workflows through technology and automation.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Supervisor:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 4+ years of accounts payable experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience, is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounts payable, invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, accruals, month-end close, and vendor management is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong ERP and accounts payable system experience is required, with AP automation and process improvement experience preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, organization, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and process improvement skills are required.
