Job Overview – Accounts Payable Accountant (Real Estate):
Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Accountant in Boston, MA for our client’s real estate team. This hybrid role manages property portfolios, processing payables, vendor payments, and tenant billings with accuracy and timeliness. You’ll collaborate across departments, support audits, and enhance efficiencies using Avid, Paymode, and Excel. Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Accountant:
- Accounts Payable Management: Process invoices, vendor payments, and weekly check runs, ensuring accuracy and timely posting to the general ledger.
- Property Accounting: Manage a portfolio of properties, reconciling payables and tenant billings such as CAM, RET, and chargebacks.
- System Administration: Oversee accounting platforms (Avid, Paymode) and property management sheets (PM Sheets/Open Box) for billing and payment tracking.
- Audit & Compliance: Provide vendor documentation, support annual audits, and assist with year-end 1099 processing.
- Collaboration & Support: Respond to inquiries, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to workflow efficiency and team coverage.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Accountant:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable within a real estate or property management environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with accounting systems such as Avid, Paymode, or similar ERP platforms.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of property-level accounting, tenant billing, and real estate financial workflows.
- Skills & Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven professional with strong problem-solving and communication skills, effective both independently and in team settings.
