Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Policy Manager (Technical Accounting & Compliance) in Boston, MA with our client. You will oversee the research, interpretation, and implementation of U.S. GAAP and SEC standards while managing policy updates, internal training, and audit coordination. This role is ideal for accounting professionals with technical accounting expertise and experience in asset management or financial services.
Responsibilities as the Accounting Policy Manager:
- Technical Research: Analyze new and proposed U.S. GAAP, SEC, and regulatory standards, summarizing key impacts for management.
- Policy Development: Create, maintain, and update accounting policies and procedures to align with evolving standards and best practices.
- Standard Implementation: Lead adoption of new accounting standards, preparing documentation and required disclosures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, legal, and internal control teams to assess and implement accounting changes.
- Audit & Regulatory Support: Act as the primary contact for auditors and regulators, providing documentation and resolving technical inquiries.
- Financial Compliance Review: Ensure financial statements and disclosures meet U.S. GAAP, SEC, and internal control requirements.
Qualifications for the Accounting Policy Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to asset management, investment funds, or consolidation accounting.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and disclosures, with proficiency in Excel and research tools like Checkpoint and GAAP Dynamics.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with financial services, investment management, or regulated reporting environments preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to interpret complex standards while effectively advising management.
