Job Overview – Accounting Manager (Retail):
Take on a pivotal role with our client as an Accounting Manager (Retail) in Hicksville, NY. This position supports a manufacturing facility, managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting, and conducting analyses to drive operational efficiency and profitability. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000/year + bonus
Location: Hicksville, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Full-Time)
Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager (Retail):
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts with department collaboration.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct cost, ROI, and variance analysis to support decision-making and profitability improvements.
- Pricing Strategy: Recommend pricing changes and guide decisions with insights on costing and margins.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor plant performance metrics, focusing on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Audit and Compliance: Support audits and ensure adherence to governance and compliance standards.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager (Retail):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required (MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in financial analysis, cost accounting, or general accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong organization, attention to detail, financial modeling proficiency, critical thinking, and proven ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP system implementation.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, analytical, and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
