Compensation: $145,000 – $165,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Join our client’s growing credit platform as an Accounting Manager (Credit & BDC Reporting) in New York, NY. In this hybrid role, you’ll oversee accounting and reporting functions for direct lending and BDC entities, including NAV reconciliation, valuation support, SEC filings, and board reporting. Ideal for CPAs with strong technical accounting skills and experience across private credit, BDCs, or alternative investment fund structures.

Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage general ledger, entity-level accounting, and financial statement preparation for credit and BDC portfolios.
  • NAV & Valuation: Review NAV packages with administrators and support monthly pricing and quarterly valuation processes.
  • SEC & Board Reporting: Draft 10-Qs, 10-Ks, shelf registrations, and BDC board reporting packages.
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead audit deliverables, maintain SOX narratives, and address external audit inquiries.
  • Capital & Cash Activity: Process capital calls, distributions, AP, and cash reconciliations with accuracy.
  • Process Enhancement: Improve reporting tools, respond to investor queries, and support special projects and new initiatives.

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA required.
  • Experience: 6+ years of public or private accounting experience with a strong focus on private credit, BDCs, direct lending entities, and fund accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems, with preferred experience in general ledger and investment accounting platforms.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of fund accounting, SEC reporting, valuation principles, and credit fund structures.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
