Compensation: $110,000 – $125,000/year + bonus

Step into a key role with our client as an Accounting Analyst (Private Equity) in New York, NY (Hybrid), supporting financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting operations across multiple entities. Ideal for a CPA with public accounting experience and exposure to private equity, hedge funds, or venture capital, this role focuses on ledger accuracy, expense tracking, audits, and cross-functional reporting.

Responsibilities as the Accounting Analyst (Private Equity):

  • Fund Accounting: Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements across multiple private equity entities.
  • Transaction Oversight: Review general ledger entries and weekly transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Regulatory & Audit Support: Manage regulatory filings and assist with annual audits and external auditor coordination.
  • Expense Management: Oversee investment and fund-level expenses, including legal, audit, and T&E costs.
  • Treasury & Controls: Support treasury operations, wire processing, and development of process control narratives.
  • Reporting & Process Improvement: Prepare reporting packages and contribute to ongoing process enhancements and special projects.

Qualifications for the Accounting Analyst (Private Equity):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Licensure: CPA required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in public accounting (Big 4 or regional), with direct audit experience for fund clients in private equity, hedge funds, or venture capital.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and fund accounting systems, with a solid understanding of GAAP and investment reporting standards.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of fund structures, private equity operations, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
