Job Overview – Accountant (Hybrid):
Take on a key role as an Accountant with our client in Philadelphia, PA. This hybrid opportunity is perfect for an experienced accounting professional skilled in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. You’ll handle financial transactions, account reconciliations, and SOX compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Compensation: $75,000 – $87,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Accountant:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring adherence to FASB, GAAP, and SOX regulations.
  • Account Reconciliation: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and uphold SOX compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist with financial reporting to ensure alignment with industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in collaboration with FP&A.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
  • Technology & Collaboration: Utilize financial systems to streamline reporting and work with cross-functional teams on compliance.

Qualifications for the Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA preferred).
  • Certification: CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in Big 4, large regional public accounting, or a combination of public/private accounting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB regulations, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality, integrity, leadership, and effective project management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in public accounting, regulatory or utility reporting, SEC compliance, or the energy sector is highly preferred.
  • Technology & Software: Proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting software, and advanced Excel functions.
