Works in conjunction with the Senior Tax Manager in preparation of Form 1042 workpaper template.
Prepare GP and LP estimates
Assistance with the completion of annual tax provisions
Maintain underlying investment tracker and an initial review of the information received
Responsible for compiling tax return information to be provided to external tax providers
Assist Senior Tax Manager and Tax Director with external tax provider questions
Initial review of completed tax returns and workpapers
Assistance in updating annual foreign withholding investor reconciliations
Preparation of tax receivable GL balance reconciliations
Responsible for initial review of IRS and state notices and preparing responses as necessary.
Perform Global Information Reporting tasks including working with the external tax provider
Undergraduate degree in accounting or tax required with 4 to 6 years of experience (not including internship) and a focus on the investment management industry. Progress towards master’s degree or CPA license preferred.
Experience preparing partnership tax returns, Schedule K-1s, and the related footnote disclosures including UBTI and ECI/FIRPTA.
Previous experience with international tax forms such as 5471, 8865, and 8621 a plus.
An understanding of partnership state tax return preparation including the difference between allocation and apportionment.
Knowledge of state and foreign withholding along with the various types of partners
Strong computer skills (notably Excel) a necessity.
