Job Overview – Director of Business Development – Contracting Company
Join our client's team as a Director of Business Development and take on a pivotal role in driving the growth of their renovation/restoration general contracting company. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong connections in the architecture and development communities in the NYC/Brooklyn area. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing company and contribute to the revitalization of Mid-rise/High-rise condo buildings and mixed-use properties.

Compensation: $100,000.00 – $200,000.00 + bonus + commission
Location: Essex County, NJ – Onsite

Responsibilities as the Director of Business Development include:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with architects, developers, and other key stakeholders in the NYC/Brooklyn area to generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives to expand the company's client base and increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to define target markets and sectors, and develop tailored sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities within the architecture and development communities in the NYC/Brooklyn area
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients, effectively communicating the company's value proposition and capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements and successful project outcomes.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, pipeline activity, and business development performance to senior management.

Qualifications of the Director of Business Development include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, construction management, preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in business development or sales within the construction industry, with experience in renovation/restoration projects preferred.
  • Strong network of contacts in the architecture and development communities in the NYC/Brooklyn area.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, able to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
