Role Overview – Director of Finance & Operations:
Our client, a philanthropically backed investment platform accelerating sustainable emerging markets infrastructure, is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to architect fiscal foundations and processes fueling substantial impact and growth. Supporting the CEO, the ideal candidate will manage nonprofit finances, fund administration, reporting, compliance, budgets, and systems integrations and promote operational excellence through contract negotiations, vendor oversight, and cross-functional execution leadership.
Compensation: $175,000.00 – $200,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City
Responsibilities for the Director of Finance & Operations include:
• Directing daily accounting and financial operations
• Ensuring investment fund compliance and audit readiness
• Administering government and foundation grants
• Recommending risk management enhancements
• Negotiating partnerships with key advisors
• Leading financial planning and budgeting
• Supporting HR, payroll and employee onboarding
• Identifying and implementing technology stack
Qualifications of the Director of Finance & Operations include:
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years finance experience; nonprofit expertise ideal
• Outstanding analytical, leadership and communication abilities
• High capacity to balance competing priorities
• Creative problem-solver able to influence stakeholders
• Passion for accelerating climate infrastructure
