Job Overview – Accounting Manager (Financial Reporting)
Compensation: $115,000 – $125,000/year + bonus
Location: Columbia, MO
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager (Financial Reporting) in Columbia, MO for our client, supporting financial reporting, general ledger management, and accounting operations within a regulated financial services environment. In this role, you will oversee GAAP and statutory reporting, manage the monthly close process, and ensure accurate financial statements and supporting analysis. You will partner with FP&A and finance leadership while strengthening internal controls and improving accounting processes.
Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager (Financial Reporting):
- Financial Reporting Oversight: Manage the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including GAAP and statutory reporting while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger while overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Internal Reporting Coordination: Partner with FP&A and finance teams to deliver financial reports and analysis for leadership and Board reporting.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure key account reconciliations are properly supported and documented.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support staff accountants while promoting best practices across accounting processes.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager (Financial Reporting):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required, and CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience in financial reporting, general ledger, or accounting operations within public accounting or corporate environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting, internal controls, and financial statement preparation is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems or ERP platforms is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and operational teams.
