Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Manager in Boston, MA for our client, supporting corporate tax, partnership tax, and investment-related tax matters. This role will oversee tax compliance, reporting, planning, and internal processes while partnering with accounting, finance, and other business functions. The Tax Manager will also support the continued development of an in-house tax function and manage relationships with external tax professionals.

Responsibilities as the Tax Manager:

  • Tax Management: Oversee federal, state, corporate, partnership, and investment-related tax activities across the organization.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage the preparation and review of tax returns, K-1 reporting, tax provisions, and supporting documentation.
  • Tax Planning: Evaluate tax considerations related to investments, transactions, organizational changes, and other business activities.
  • Financial Reporting: Support tax accounting, financial reporting, and applicable tax-related disclosures.
  • External Advisors: Coordinate with outside tax professionals and auditors while transitioning key tax processes and knowledge internally.
  • Process Development: Establish and maintain effective tax procedures, controls, documentation, and reporting practices.

Qualifications for the Tax Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field is required, CPA or related tax or accounting certification is preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination of public and private accounting is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with corporate taxation, partnerships, K-1s, and real estate or investment-related tax matters is required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation, tax compliance, tax provisions, financial reporting, and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, communication, organizational, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
