Job Overview – Chief Financial Officer
Compensation: $190,000–$200,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Chief Financial Officer in Philadelphia, PA for our client, leading the accounting and finance function for a growing real estate organization. This hands-on executive role will oversee financial operations, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, financing, controls, and team leadership while partnering directly with ownership on strategic and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate has 25+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with significant real estate expertise and the ability to evaluate, strengthen, and scale a finance function within an entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities as the Chief Financial Officer:
- Finance Leadership: Lead accounting, finance, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while serving as a strategic partner to ownership and senior leadership.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee close processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, property-level accounting, and multi-entity financial reporting.
- Financial Planning: Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, capital planning, financial modeling, and performance analysis to support business decisions and long-term growth.
- Financing & Capital Management: Oversee lender relationships, financing activities, debt compliance, liquidity, and financial requirements associated with real estate investments and operations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop the accounting team while evaluating staffing, responsibilities, workflows, and opportunities to strengthen the overall finance organization.
- Processes & Controls: Assess existing accounting operations and implement scalable processes, internal controls, systems, and reporting improvements.
Qualifications for the Chief Financial Officer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 25+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required, including significant senior financial leadership and hands-on responsibility for accounting operations.
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive real estate accounting and finance experience is required, including multi-entity accounting, property-level reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financing, and lender reporting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills are required, along with experience using real estate accounting, ERP, and financial reporting systems.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong executive leadership, financial judgment, communication, organization, process improvement, team development, and ability to operate hands-on within a lean and entrepreneurial environment are required.
