Job Overview – Fund Accounting Analyst
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accounting Analyst in New York, NY for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities within an investment management environment. This role will assist with recurring accounting and reporting processes while collaborating with internal teams on financial information, controls, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has experience in public accounting, financial services, fund accounting, or investment management with strong accounting, financial reporting, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities as the Fund Accounting Analyst:
- Fund Accounting: Support fund accounting, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, accounting schedules, and supporting financial information.
- Accounting Operations: Maintain accurate accounting records and support recurring accounting and reporting activities.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial activity, expenses, account balances, and related accounting information.
- Audit & Tax Support: Prepare financial information and documentation to support audit and tax requirements.
- Process Improvement: Support accounting controls, reporting improvements, systems initiatives, and process enhancements.
Qualifications for the Fund Accounting Analyst:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, CPA or progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of public accounting, fund accounting, investment accounting, or related financial services experience is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes is required, with investment management experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong U.S. GAAP and Microsoft Excel proficiency, with experience using accounting or financial reporting systems, is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
