Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant
Compensation: $130,000–$150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant in New York, NY for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, investment activity, and related accounting operations within an investment management environment. This role will support financial close processes, reconciliations, investment transactions, capital activity, reporting, and coordination with internal teams and external service providers. The ideal candidate has previous fund accounting, investment accounting, partnership accounting, or public accounting experience with strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant:

  • Fund Accounting: Maintain accounting records, general ledgers, reconciliations, and financial reporting for investment funds and related entities.
  • Financial Close: Support quarterly and annual close processes, including investment activity, account reconciliations, allocations, and financial reporting.
  • Investment Activity: Support accounting for investment transactions, capital activity, cash activity, and related fund operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other fund accounting deliverables.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Coordinate financial documentation and provide support for annual audits and tax-related activities.
  • Process Improvement: Improve fund accounting processes, financial controls, reporting, data quality, and workflows through technology and automation.

Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience: 4+ years of fund accounting, investment accounting, public accounting, or related financial services accounting experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with private funds, alternative investments, investment accounting, or related fund structures is required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong fund accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, financial analysis, and accounting systems skills are required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
