Compensation: $100,000–$130,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring an Operations Associate in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounting, investment operations, financial reporting, and finance activities within an alternative investment management environment. This growth-oriented role offers exposure across accounting and operational functions while working closely with senior finance and investment professionals. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation and is looking to expand into a broader investment operations and finance role.

Responsibilities as the Operations Associate:

  • Fund Accounting: Support accounting activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and period-end processes for investment funds.
  • Investment Operations: Assist with daily operational workflows related to investment activity, transactions, positions, and portfolio data.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial information, supporting schedules, and analyses for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Finance Support: Partner with accounting, operations, and finance professionals on reporting, analysis, and other cross-functional initiatives.
  • Operational Controls: Maintain accurate records, identify potential discrepancies, and support controls designed to improve accuracy and operational risk management.
  • Process Improvement: Leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve accounting and operational workflows, reporting, and overall efficiency.

Qualifications for the Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA or CFA designation is required, with candidates actively completing advanced stages of either credential also considered.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience within public accounting or the investment management industry is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Financial services accounting experience is required, with hedge fund, alternative investment, or other investment product exposure preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel and technology skills are required, with experience using automation, AI, data analysis, or other technology-driven efficiency tools preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, initiative, and interest in developing across accounting, finance, and investment operations are required.
