Atlantic Group is hiring a Finance Analyst (Temporary) in New York, NY for our client, supporting private markets finance, fund accounting, business process optimization, and technology initiatives. This hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for a finance or operations professional with private equity or private debt fund experience who enjoys partnering with business and technology teams to improve accounting processes and data workflows. The role offers significant exposure to finance leadership while driving system enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities as the Finance Analyst (Temporary):

  • Business Process Analysis: Evaluate finance and accounting workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Requirements Gathering: Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to gather business requirements and document processes for system and technology initiatives.
  • Data & Systems: Support financial systems, data management, reconciliations, and reporting enhancements while helping improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across finance, operations, technology, and external partners to support projects and ensure successful implementation.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare financial and operational reporting, analyze data, and develop insights to support business decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, strengthen financial processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications for the Finance Analyst (Temporary):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5–7 years of experience in finance, accounting, business analysis, fund operations, or investment operations is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience within investment management, private markets, financial services, or a related environment is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial systems, data analytics, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms are required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and technology teams.
