Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant (Private Debt)
Compensation: $100,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant (Private Debt) in Boston, MA for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, and portfolio accounting activities within a private credit investment environment. This opportunity will work closely with accounting, investor relations, tax, and investment teams to support the administration and reporting of private debt funds. The ideal candidate will bring public accounting or alternative investment experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and a CPA designation.
Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant (Private Debt):
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, fund performance reporting, and investor deliverables.
- Fund Accounting: Support capital calls, distributions, portfolio accounting, and fund-level reconciliations across multiple investment vehicles.
- Administrator Oversight: Review third-party fund administrator deliverables and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash activity, perform reconciliations, track investment income, and maintain accurate fund records.
- Audit & Tax Support: Coordinate with external auditors and internal tax teams to support annual audits, tax estimates, and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant (Private Debt):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: Active CPA designation is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or alternative investment fund accounting experience, is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of alternative investments, fund accounting, partnership accounting, and GAAP financial reporting is required. Exposure to regulatory reporting and complex investment structures is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment are required.
