Job Overview – Senior Tax Accountant (Corporate Tax)
Compensation: $90,000 – $103,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant (Corporate Tax) in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting federal and state income/franchise tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provision within a structured tax department. In this role, you will prepare and review tax filings, ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements, and get exposed to tax provisions. You will leverage tax systems such as OneSource and Sage, along with advanced Excel, to support reporting, audits, and process improvements.
Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Accountant (Corporate Tax):
- Tax Compliance: Assist with federal, state, and local corporate tax filings, including estimates, extensions, and returns.
- State Tax Reporting: Analyze and support state income and franchise tax reporting to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Tax Provision: Support preparation and review of ASC 740 tax provisions, including GAAP reporting requirements.
- Audit Support: Partner with external auditors and assist with responses to federal and state tax audits.
- Tax Planning: Contribute to tax planning initiatives and special projects to improve tax strategy and efficiency.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Accountant (Corporate Tax):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and a Master’s in Taxation is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting or a corporate tax environment is required, with experience at a large public accounting firm preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of ASC 740, GAAP and STAT tax accounting, and federal and state income tax regulations is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with tax software such as OneSource, Sage, or similar systems is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Certification: CPA or progress toward certification is preferred.
