Job Overview – Controller
Compensation: $190,000 – $225,000/year + bonus
Location: Memphis, TN
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Controller in Memphis, TN for our client, supporting financial reporting, accounting operations, forecasting, and audit oversight within a operating business environment. In this hybrid role, you will lead the close process, oversee GAAP compliance, manage accounting teams, and partner with executive leadership to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities as the Corporate Controller:
- Financial Reporting: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial reporting and forecasting.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead audit preparation and ensure accurate and timely responses to auditor requests.
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff while fostering a high-performing team environment.
- Accounts Receivable Oversight: Oversee AR processes and maintain accurate financial records to support cash flow and stability.
- Leadership and Strategic Collaboration: Present financial results to leadership and serve as business partner with internal teams/operations.
Qualifications for the Corporate Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including proven leadership as a Corporate Controller, Divisional Controller, or Financial Reporting/Accounting Manager.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage large-volume data and reporting tools.
- Skills & Attributes: Effective communicator with a talent for translating financial data and leading teams through a collaborative, hands-on style.
- Travel: Occasional travel required (less than 10%).
