Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager in Boston, MA for our client, supporting accounts payable operations, vendor management, and financial controls within a financial or professional services environment. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end AP processes, manage vendor payments, and lead a team while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will leverage systems such as Workday Financials and Excel to optimize workflows, strengthen controls, and support reporting and audit readiness.

Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Manager:

  • Purchase-to-Pay Oversight: Manage the full accounts payable lifecycle, ensuring timely invoice processing and payment execution.
  • Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain internal controls across approvals, coding, and payment processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Invoice Processing & Payments: Oversee invoice workflows and payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor onboarding, records, and compliance requirements including documentation and reporting.
  • Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Lead AP team members while improving workflows, systems, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience required, with financial services or professional services experience preferred, including team management experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of purchase-to-pay processes, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with ERP systems is required, and Workday Financials experience is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with AP automation tools such as AppZen and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive accountability, and communicate effectively across all levels.
