Job Overview – Assistant Vice President (Fund Accounting)
Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Vice President (Fund Accounting) in New York, NY for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, and investor operations within an alternative asset management environment. In this role, you will oversee the monthly close, NAV calculations, and investor reporting while partnering with administrators, auditors, and internal teams. You will leverage Excel and fund accounting systems to ensure accuracy across capital activity, valuations, and financial controls while driving process improvements.
Responsibilities as the Assistant Vice President (Fund Accounting):
- Fund Close & NAV Oversight: Manage the monthly close process and oversee NAV calculations in coordination with third-party administrators.
- Financial Reporting & Investor Deliverables: Review and distribute investor reporting, capital statements, and compliance packages.
- Fund Accounting & Reconciliations: Oversee balance sheet reconciliations across cash, investments, and related accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Capital Activity & Allocations: Manage partner capital accounts, allocations, management fees, and related transactions.
- Audit & Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with auditors, administrators, and internal teams to support audits, reporting, and process improvements.
Qualifications for the Assistant Vice President (Fund Accounting):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in fund accounting is required, with a strong preference for backgrounds within hedge funds, private equity, or alternative asset managers.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of fund structures, capital allocations, NAV calculations, and financial reporting within alternative investments is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with fund accounting systems such as Geneva, Investran, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while communicating effectively with senior stakeholders and external partners.
