Job Overview – Healthcare Controller
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000/year
Location: Pasco County, FL
Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Healthcare Controller in Pasco County, FL for our client, supporting financial operations, accounting oversight, and reporting within a healthcare services environment. In this role, you will lead financial reporting, general accounting, budgeting, and internal controls while partnering with physician and administrative leadership to drive financial performance and operational insights. You will leverage Excel and accounting systems to manage financial data, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities as the Healthcare Controller:
- Financial Reporting & Close: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Accounting Operations & Controls: Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal financial controls across the organization.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis: Lead budgeting and forecasting while analyzing revenue, expenses, and profitability across locations and service lines.
- Healthcare Financial Oversight: Evaluate managed care contracts, reimbursement structures, and financial performance to support optimization and compliance.
- Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with physician and operational leadership to deliver financial insights, support decision-making, and drive performance improvements.
Qualifications for the Healthcare Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Management, or a related field is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting or financial leadership experience is required, with a strong preference for experience within healthcare, physician groups, or clinical operations environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare financial operations, managed care reimbursement, and regulatory compliance is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar financial software is strongly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with both clinical and administrative leadership while managing financial priorities.
